Why a Blog now?
This is a good question. I mean, after all, starting a blog is so 1998 and even this blog was started in 2011 and now... Ten Years Later... why is this the time to begin posting on a regular basis? I think the answer comes down to the truth that I have wanted, for the last ten years, to have a platform, a temple, a sanctuary, for sharing what I'm interested in and what I believe in and how I feel and what I'm learning and all the things I find inspiring and illuminating. Back in 2011, instead of feeding and nurturing a Blog on my own platform, I chose to give it all to Facebook. Now after 10+ years of feeding the algorithm my content... I'm feeling the call to return to a more intimate and personal setting for what I hope to share with you. I deeply believe in safe spaces and safe containers especially for Creative expression. We live in a culture of judgments and blame and shame. I want to create sacred online space. A trusted container for what I want to share and what I have to offer. It's clear that many of the social media platforms are designed to create feelings of inadequacy, anger, blame, and shame. I am no longer interested in playing those games of roulette with my creative heart. Seduced into unsafe and unprotected vulnerability that is trauma inducing. I want to cultivate trauma informed spaces. Thank you for entering this temple with compassion and respect.
